Nothing says the holidays to me like the Nutcracker Ballet (well, there are the sales and the food and movies on TV, but I meant in a pure, joy of the season kinda way.)  For children and adults its the time to enjoy this joy filled show of the season.  And with shows popping up at local and national ballet companies, there are tons of places to go and enjoy it.
In Los Angeles, and indeed throughout California, there are performances all over and  this website has them listed so whether you are in Berkeley or Folsom or Los Angeles you can find an abundance of shows to enjoy (at different prices as well).
The Los Angeles Ballet has it’s show from December 5th (a very VERY special day) til December 27th at 3 different venues, in Glendale, Royce Hall and Redondo Beach, so pick your date and locale carefully.
Huntington Beach has a show by the Coast City Ballet and the Westside Ballet have a show in Brentwood, indeed the greater LA area has a variety of shows so check your local area for ones close to you.
I have to mention the Long Beach Ballet, performing in Pasadena and in Long Beach as they have the only Nutcracker show in Southern California with a full orchestra. I must say having a full orchestra adds to the majesty and impact of the show (and as it’s done by Tchaikovsky the music is kinda the thing) so if you can, definitely catch this show.
A grand show about a girl on a magical journey, Tchaikovsky and the holidays. How much fun!
