Ice-Skating around Los Angeles at W Hotel and Downtown on Ice…

1

Normally Palm Trees and suntans come to mind – even in Los Angeles in the winter. But this year, there are more options to get into the winter pastime of ice-skating – from the W hotel in Westwood to downtown Los Angeles to Santa Monica.

The W Hotel in Westwood’s Wet Bar is changed into a winter wonderland with the creation of an ice-skating rink.  You can have s’mores, a hot toddy and enjoy some ice fun with friends and family in a plush environment the hotel calls CHILL, their outdoor hybrid ice skating rink. The hotel has lots of room/ice skating specials, but you can skate for $10 and hour, rental included and no advance reservations are required.  If you have always wanted to ice skate between Bel Air and Beverly Hills, your wish has been granted.  This is what it normally looks like: who97518po.62455_md

Heading downtown, L.A. Live had first skate last Thursday for it’s outdoor rink, which will be open to the public until December 31.  General admission cost is $10 and includes skate rental.  The rink can fit 200 people at a time, and is 70 feet by 50 feet.  Click here to find out location, parking and hours of operation.

Pershing Square downtown also has an outdoor rink, and on December 12 and 13 there is Downtown on Ice, a holiday event from 11am til 6pm that is family focused. Admission is $6 and skate rental is $2 so it’s an inexpensive way to get some holiday cheer!

Santa Monica and Culver City also have skating rinks, so get out and hit the ice for some holiday cheer.  There are still palm trees all around and soon enough it will be warm again.
