The 2010 Craft Beer Festival and Craft Beer Express are Coming to Philadelphia in March
With Philadelphia Being recently recognized as the Best Beer Town by Maxim, and because of the accolades of its many great beer establishments, there’s been many good reasons to raise those glasses high and celebrate. And fortunately March is going to give you two great opportunities to do so. Because on March 6th The 2010 Philly Craft Beer Festival comes to the Navy Yard, And on March 13th the Craft Beer Express will roll into town and take you to 7 different events at 7 different bars.
2010 Philly Craft Beer Festival
50+ Breweries & 100+ Beers
Back for the 4th year in a row, the PHILLY CRAFT BEER FEST is a true craft beer tasting event featuring an incredible variety of beers from some of the best craft brewers in the country.
The Philadelphia Cruise Terminal at the Navy Yard is the perfect venue for this tasting event. Located at 5100 South Broad Street, Philadelphia, PA 19112, it is easily accessible by SEPTA and offers free on-site parking. Complimentary shuttle bus service will be provided for festival attendees from the Broad and; Pattison SEPTA station to the event. The Navy Yard is located about 100 yards off exits from 95 or 76.
Breweries that will be at the event include: Magic Hat Brewing Co., Lancaster Brewing, Yuengling, Original Sin, Rock Art Brewery, Yards, Gritty McDuff’s, Boulder Beer, and more. Plenty of other breweries appearing at the event, and special events should be announced as well. The event will benefit St. Christopher’s Hospital for Children, And will feature two different sessions; and afternoon one from 12:30pm-4:00pm, and an evening session from 6:00pm-9:30pm. Tickets for the event cost $45 now, and will cost $60 if available at the door ($10 for designated drivers). The Craft Beer Express
On March 13th 7 great Philly bars (Two of which we covered on our Top Beer Garden listing). will join forces for a series of fantastic beer related events. And these events will be so fantastic that there will be a special shuttle transporting people people back and forth from each bar.
Philadelphia. March 13th. 8 hours. 7 great bars hosting must attend beer events. Whats that you say? You want to hit as many of these stellar events as possible? Fear not Loyal Beer Geeks! The Craft Beer Express is here!
Details: Buses will run from 11am to 7pm with drop off/pick up running about every 30 minutes. Beer ambassadors will be on each bus talking beer, handing out schwag and generally keeping the flow going smoothly.
You may begin your journey at any participating bar and get on as many buses as you wish. For those of you who live in the burbs, take the train and start downtown at Jose Pistolas!
The Bars and Events: We will be unvealing Carol Stoudt’s latest German creation, Karnival Kolsch! We will also feature a few other Stoudts beers and as always the best line-up of German beer in the city. There is even talk about the Brauhaus having its first Firkin.
Also going on:At the institute will be Bam Bam Bill’s Barleywine Bonanza, the 2nd annual Stout Brunch will be at Johnny Brenda’s, Big Wood weekend at the Standard Tap, Around the Clock with Dogfish Head at the Kite and Key, Both Devils Den and Jose Pistola’s have TBD events.

We will feature 10+ local stouts on tap all day until they’re gone and we will be serving up special oyster dishes and a traditional Irish Breakfast for brunch from 11:00am-3:30pm.

The Institute will behosting Bam Bam Bill’s Barleywine Bonanza.
On deck for the day: Victory Old Horizontal, Yards Old Bart, Wyerbacher Blithering Idiot, Rock Art Ridge Runner, Dominion Millennium, Sierra Nevada Bigfoot, Duck Rabbit Barelywine plus a few more and some surprise brews. Flights are encouraged for this event. Chef Kyle has some alcohol absorbing specials planned in small plate form.
