The Philly Cooks Event is set to benefit the Philadelphia branch of the Ronald McDonald House. The Philadelphia Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for families of children with life-threatening illnesses receiving care at local Philadelphia hospitals. It also runs the Ronald McDonald Camp in the Poconos for oncology patients and their siblings as well as two Family Rooms in the Oncology and Cardiac Centers at The Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia to provide respite space for families away from the bedside.
For this event 40 of the cities top restaurants bring out he best of their chefs to compete in a cooking competition where you the people sample the goods and help give input on the Best Entree, the Best Appetizer, the Best Dessert, and the Dish of the Year. This year Chefs competing include: Chef Andrew Brown of Alison Two, Chef and Owner of Becca’s Restaurant Robert Bahm, Chef Chip Roman of Blackfish, Owner of Bourbon Blue Brendan McGraw, Chef Scott Swiderski of Buddakan, Chef Robert Dacko of Butcher and Singer, Chef Tyson Wong of Chew Man Chu, Chef Brian Wilson of Le Castagne, Margaret Kuo, Executive Chef Ralph P. Fernandez of Moshulu, Executive Chef Matt Zagorski of Rouge, Chef and Owner Mitch Prensky of Supper, Executive Chef John Strain of Valanni, and more.
