Idina Menzel won a Tony for Best Actress for her role as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, in the original production of ‘Wicked’ on Broadway.
She just announced a concert tour. Here is the schedule so far:

Meanwhile, “Wicked” itself is still going strong, with Dee Roscioli as Elphaba and Katie Rose Clarke as Glinda. Mandy Gonzalez, who originated the role of ‘Nina’ in the Broadway musical, ‘In the Heights,’ will assume the role of ‘Elphaba’ from Roscioli on March 23, 2010.
Menzel, born on May 30, 1971 Syosset, NY, debuted on Broadway in the original Broadway cast of “Rent,” playing Maureen the performing artist. She went on to star in “Aida” for four years and a one-day performance of “Funny Girl” before landing in the original cast of “Wicked,” opposite Kristin Chenoweth. She performed in “Wicked” from October 8, 2003 to January 8, 2005.
