Edwin McCain’s new album and upcoming appearance in Seattle
I hate “the best of” albums. Not because they’re inherently bad, but because they remind me of my own mortality. I remember when Edwin McCain hit it big. It wasn’t that long ago on my personal, slightly divorced from reality, timeline, and yet here he is with a newly released album called ‘The Best of Edwin McCain.’ It does indeed hold some of his best songs, as well as a new one, Walk With You, but my internalized calendar says it’s too soon. Oh well, what can you do.
Accepting reality might not be an option in my case, but seeing Edwin McCain this summer in Seattle certainly is. He will be at the Triple Door on Thursday, July 29, 2010. Tickets go on sale Friday, April 9th at 10:00 am. Cost is $30.
This is the dude that the New York Times called the “great American romantic†and whose biography states that “at any given moment on this very day a radio station in America is playing one of his songs,” so I guess I can live with a “best of” album. Not that I have any choice.
The Triple Door is located at 216 Union Street.
