Summer is right around the corner, and if you’re anything like me you’ve been ready for its arrival for months.  This play list has definitely been preparing me for hot weather and lots of swimming.

Summertime – Kenny Chesney
It would be really easy to comprise an entire list of only Kenny Chesney summer songs, but this one has been a favorite lately.

Barefoot and Crazy – Jack Ingram

Somethin’ Like That – Tim McGraw

Corpus Christi Bay – Robert Earl Keen

It’s difficult to narrow Robert Earl Keen down to just one song, especially during the summer.

All Summer Long – Kid Rock

Sounds So Good – Ashton Shepherd

Chicken Fried – Zac Brown Band

Never Be That High – Randy Rogers Band
Randy Rogers Band has been big in the Texas country music scene for a long time, and they’re finally starting to get some recognition nationwide (they were nominated for Top Vocal Group at this year’s ACMs).  They’re great – if you haven’t gotten a chance to check them out I highly recommend doing so. “In My Arms Instead,” “Buy Myself A Chance,” “Lost and Found,” and “Better Than I Ought to Be” are a few of my personal favorites.

Johnny Cash – Jason Aldean
Great road trip song.

Margaritaville – Jimmy Buffet

Fishin’ in the Dark – Nitty Gritty Dirt Band
This song never gets old. Jack Ingram gives a shout out to it in “Barefoot and Crazy.”

Chattahoochee – Alan Jackson

Country Man – Luke Bryan
His new single, “Rain is a Good Thing” is also an awesome summer song.

Good Times – Charlie Robison

Good Directions – Billy Currington

Long Way to Mexico – Roger Creager

I’m sure there are about a million more, and since summer provides ample opportunity for enjoying music in and outdoors, feel free to introduce me to your favorites!
