Sorry NHL fans, not that hockey. Hockey from Portland, Oregon. A band that is dead serious about dance music. “When we started making music, we wanted to make music that people could have fun to at the parties we played. We want people to react. That was our deal.” – says frontman Ben Grubin via the band’s Facebook page. If Hockey’s live show is as well crafted as their debuet album Mind Chaos (capitol) then one should expect nothing less then a dance party at Neumos on Thursday night. It also happens to be the last date in the Pacific Northwest for the foreseeable future as the band makes plans to tour Europe for the summer. Be sure to arrive early, because local favorites Kids and Animals and Exohxo are themselves alone worth the price of admission.
