If you’re an anime fan or cosplayer in the North East portion of the United States, then there’s probably good chance you’ve heard of Reni Mimura.
Reni is a cosplay singer that specializes in Akihabara-style performances, which is a style that “emphasizes the cute look of Japanese pop-culture with the hip appeal of Japanese animation.” She performs songs in both Japanese and English, and she’s been cropping up at fandom conventions, festivals, and concerts all over the place ever since she moved to New York from Japan.
On June 26, 2010, Reni will be joining DJ Asu and Chidi for an event called Pop Show Japan at Club Orpheus in Baltimore, Maryland. Pop Show Japan, according to organizers, is the first U.S. night club event featuring Asian Pop Music.
Club Orpheus is located at 003 E. Pratt St., Baltimore, Maryland.
The event starts at 9 p.m. You must be at least 18 years old to enter, and 21+ to drink.
Entry is $10, or $7 if in an anime, movie, or game character costume. Please note that Club Orpheus is cash only. However, an ATM machine is available on site.
