A new steampunk art exhibit is opening this July in Hartford, Connecticut! Called The Steampunk Bizarre, it will feature the work of 23 international artists and their vision of “what steampunk is and will be.”
The Steampunk Bizarre exhibit will run from July 9 to July 16, 2010 at Hartford ArtSpace, located at 555 Asylum Street in Hartford, Connecticut. There will be a “soft” opening on July 9 from 5 – 9 p.m., with the official opening reception being held July 10 from 6 – 10 p.m.
Additionally, there will be a steampunk meet-up at the exhibit on July 11, from 5 – 9 p.m. Guests should come dressed in steampunk attire for this meet-up. Veronique Chevalier, well known to the steampunk community, will be performing at the meet-up event. Admission to the meet-up is free, however there is a suggested donation of $5 (all proceeds benefit the Saint Mary’s Home for the elderly in Hartford).
Also appearing at the meet-up event will be Neurotic Films, who will be at the show to interview any guests who would like to be part of the upcoming documentary “I AM STEAMPUNK”, which will be released and premiered this fall at the Mark Twain House, also in Hartford.
