This Saturday, July 10th, head to beautiful Ballard for their 2nd Saturday Art Walk. Consider using public transportation for ease of getting around, since parking is always tricky.

This weekend is also the 36th Annual Ballard Seafood Fest (Sat July 10th and Sun July 11th), so expect good crowds, amazing food and a lively time. There are some great art shows going on, here are a few highlights: VAIN, located at 5401 Ballard Ave NE, will be featuring steampunk jewelry by Seattle-based designer London Particulars, along with a live musical performance at 8PM by garage/folk musician Shelby Earl. Velouria will have new paintings and prints by Jane Austen-inspired artist Brigida Swanson.

Don’t forget to swing by CoCAto see Leah Schrager’s show “Pretty Whatever” (photo-poetry works called phoems), on view through August. 7th. Many restaurants, salons and bars in the area also display artwork, so have fun exploring! For more information, venue listings and a map, visit the Ballard Chamber’s website.
