Fort Reno 2010: Free Outdoor Shows all Summer Long

Fort Reno Summer Concert Series
The Fort Reno summer concert series is a DC institution. Playing the outdoor stage in the Tenleytown park has been a rite of passage for DC bands for well over a decade. A completely volunteer-run operation, Fort Reno embodies the DIY ethos that’s made the DC music scene a legend across the nation. So, it’s time! Fort Reno’s back up and running. The days of Fugazi, Dismemberment Plan, and Ted Leo reigning over the stage may be over, but this summer’s got plenty to offer. Indie-pop outfit Tereu Tereu headline tonight’s bill, which kicks off right at 7PM. Here’s the complete 2010 schedule (and hey, Ian MacKaye’s still making an appearance with The Evens on August 2nd):

Night of 1,000 Cakes, anyone? Remember, shows begin right at 7PM and are over by 9:30PM. Fort Reno Park is across the street from Woodrow Wilson High School in Tenleytown, near the AU metrostop. What not to bring: Glass Bottles, Balloons, Alcohol, and Drugs. What to bring: Families, Pets, Picnics, Good Taste. While you’re at it, why not sign up to help out this year or next?
