Seattle Burlesque in July

From now on I’ll be publishing a monthly list of upcoming burlesque events in Seattle. Each event will have a short description, and the ones that really show promise will get their own articles. The clever among you might notice this first article comes almost two weeks into July, but fear not, there’s still plenty of burlesque to be had.

July only events

Terminally Delightful, Live in 3D!

The first solo show of BenDeLeCreme; a rising star of Seattle burlesque. BenDeLeCreme’s past acts range from elegant stripteases to hysterical slapstick. Previously, Ben’s antics have always been part of an ensemble, but this time she’s running the whole show. Performances are July 16th and 23rd at the JewelBox Theater. Tickets can be found here.

SHINE: A Burlesque Musical.

There’s still one more weekend of this astounding (not to mention arousing) show. With a talented cast and quality songs, SHINE combines the best parts of burlesque and musical into one (as it had better, with a title like that). The show runs Thursday 15th-Sunday 18th, with two performances on Friday and Saturday. Tickets here.

Tempting Tarts Present: Rock Out with Your Tart Out.

Fresh off the heels of their Pride performance, the Tempting Tarts are launching a new rock and roll themed show that promises long guitar solos alongside tassels and pasties. There are only two shows, both on Saturday 24th at 7:00pm and 8:30pm at the JewelBox, so get your tickets soon.

Gore Gore Gorelesque Girls at the JewelBox.

A troupe that describes themselves as specializing in horror, zombie, and gore based performance, inspired by the film Gore Gore Girls. They have a variety act at the JewlBox Theater, July 29th, starting at 10:00pm. Tickets available at the door.

Continuing events

Burlesque at the CanCan.

There’s a staggering amount going on at the CanCan this month. The Castaways, their in-house troupe, is pulling shows on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays.  There are four different shows in all; so the variety alone is stunning. The food and drink aren’t bad either.  A full calendar can be found here, along with tickets.

Burlesque Behind the Pink Door

Every Saturday, the Pink Door hosts a rotating cast of burlesque and cabaret performers.  While you never know exactly who you’ll see, it’s always a fun way to spend the evening. The show starts at 11:00pm with a $15 cover. Tickets are not sold in advance and the place fills up fast, so be sure to get there early.

Sinner Saint Burlesque

Every Thursday at Club Noc Noc, the lovely ladies of Sinner Saint will bump and grind long into the night. If the classic striptease is what you crave, than this is the place to go. Show starts at 9:30pm with a  $10 cover.
