Soundgarden, who revealed earlier this year that they had reunited and would be performing this summer at Perry Farrell’s Lollapalooza, have revealed plans for an intimate show that will precede their Lolla set in Chicago.
Chris Cornell and the guys will perform August 5 at the Vic Theatre in the Windy City. But tickets won’t come easy. You have to head to Soundgarden’s Web site and signup for a ticket drawing. You have better chances winning the Pick 5.
Of course, Soundgarden will be taking the Lolla stage at Chicago’s beautiful Grant Park on August 8. I wish I was going because I love me some Soundgarden. Anyone wanna buy me a ticket to Chicago? Perry? You know, the Vic is an awesome venue. I wonder if they’ll be taping the show for a DVD release. Let’s start that rumor.
Meanwhile, Soundgarden have been rehearsing for months ahead of the big Lolla gig. It is unclear just how extensive the reunion will be, and whether it will yield new music. A previously unreleased Soundgarden song, called “Black Rain,” will appear in the next installment of the “Guitar Hero” videogame franchise.
