Lots of old bands have toured in the last couple of years to satisfy a recession fueled wave of nostalgia. Some have had more new material to showcase than others and all have had varying degrees of success. The aptly named 2010 RUSH tour lets you know upfront what it’s all about. Kudos.

The Time Machine Tour is a homage to classic RUSH songs that have stood the clichéd test of time. The standout feature of the tour is the band playing the entire album Moving Pictures — for the first time ever.

Ignored by the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, but inducted into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame well over a decade ago, the band isn’t riding its own coattails of past success. A new album, Clockwork Angels, is partly done and slated for release in 2011. A couple of songs from the upcoming album will be played during the concert, as well as material from the 2007 album, Snakes & Arrows.

The Time Machine Tour comes to the Seattle area on August 7th.
The show will be at the White River Amphitheatre in Auburn and tickets are still available. The prime, front and center tickets are sold out, but seating on the sides and lawn seats are up for grabs.
