The 2010 Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival begins August 19th in Hollywood
The 14th Los Angeles Latino International Film Festival (LALIFF)Â starts this Thursday August 19th with the presentation of the Venezuelan drama â€œHermanoâ€ (Brother) at the legendary Grauman Chinese Theater, followed by an opening night gala at The Highlands.
LALIFF will continue until August 25th and will showcase feature films, documentaries, shorts, discussions, and industry panels in a set-up intended to connect the international filmmakers with the film community in Hollywood.Â The program includes work representing the talent of Argentina, Chile, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republican, Mexico, Spain, and several other Latin American countries. Â
Besides the Grauman, the films will be shown at the Mann Theaters at Hollywood and Highland and at the Egyptian Theater where the festival willÂ endÂ with the presentation of the Mexican feature â€œBackyardâ€Â and a closing night party.
