Los Lobos are playing a free show atÂ Amoeba Records in Hollywood August 25 at 7 p.m.
The band’s critically acclaimed new album and debut on L.A.-based label Shout! Factory, Tin Can Trust was released earlier this month.Â the group’s first studio set of new material in four years. Richly diverse in styles, Los Lobos returns to one of its musical anchors – blues – on the album, found i songs such as the title track and “Ill Burn It Down,” though remains true to its Mexican-American heritage on numbers such as “Yo Canto” and “Mujer Ingrata.”
From albums in the ’80s that includeÂ Will the Wolf Survive andÂ By the Light of the Moon through a startling array of music in the ’90s and this decade, spanning numerous genres, Los Lobos have always stayed true to craft with heart, expanding their horizons as musicians. Â They’ve often been introduced as the pride of Los Angeles and well they should be. Â In fact, they’re one of the greatest American bands, ever.
