The end of summer, generally signified by Labor Day Weekend, is always a pretty sad time for kids and grownups alike, but these exciting events in the Greater Philadelphia area will be sure toÂ help you remember that to every season there is a purpose (and that purpose is to enjoy!):
Labor Day at the National Constitution Center (Sept. 4-6 at the National Constitution Center)
Perfect for getting the kids back in the spirit of learningÂ (after a summer of vegging out watching tubeÂ on the couch),Â old and young alike can learn about labor history with special programs for Labor Day, which are included in the price of general admission.
Labor Day at Franklin Square (Sept.Â 6 at Franklin Square)Â

Labor Day Picnic and Parade (Sept. 6 at Penn’s Landing)
Celebrate Labor Day theÂ relaxing way with a parade (running up Columbus Boulevard from Washington Avenue beginning at 9:30 a.m.). The parade will be followed by a festival picnicÂ featuring live music, food, magicians, face painting and more.Â Entry to the picnic is $5.
First Friday (Sept. 3 at Olde City and locations city-wide)Â
