Sonic Syndicate Film Tit-Filled Video, Stir Controversy

I'd be her friend
I’ve always considered Sonic Syndicate a poor man’s Linkin Park with a babe. They have two singers — one who does the straight vocals, and another who screams — and there is even a cute chick in the band, who slaps the bass. But I could never, ever tell you I am a fan of the Swedish metallers. They simply do not do it for me. But this video they put out is pretty sick.

Anything with boobies and a band I’m not into getting their heads bashed in is OK in my book. It’s for the track “Turn It Up” and it debuted over the weekend. There’s a hot stripper chick who looks like the mom from “Rescue Me” (my only over-40 crush) and she gets topless. Then, for some reason, she smashes in the heads of all the band members. Stellar! You can see that video after the jump, in all its uncensored glory.

I just don’t get it. I understand why you would show boobs in your video: You think you suck, and you want people to hear your shit somehow, so you get some tits in there. Dude, trust me: I employ similar tactics.

But now, the video is causing problems for the band. Facebook eliminated their profile because of the gloriously vulgar footage. The video violated the popular social-networking site’s terms and conditions and the “Turn It Up” clip was removed from YouTube.

“When we filmed this video, we, of course, wanted to make a video that would shock the world and what better way to do it then with sex, drugs, blood and rock and roll,” explained Sonic Syndicate frontman’s Nathan James Biggs. “But along with the video comes some very strong lyrical content that takes us way deeper then what you’re acutely visualizing in the new video. We hope that everyone can take one step back and remember that along with a new video comes a new song which indeed has lyrics and meaning.”

Yep...boobs

And then, the singer adds that the band does not support alcohol or drug abuse and next, says something dumb.

“‘Turn it Up’ is, no doubt, a party song and designed to be the soundtrack to a great night out,” he says of the eventual stripper soundtrack. “However, the lyrics hold a deeper meaning and are based on a true story of a girl who has gone into a downward spiral of addiction and self-destruction, hurting herself and those around her. We purposely made a video to be entertaining but we also want to highlight these negativities with hopes of making people think before they go too far.”

Dudes and dudette — people are only watching this video for the boobs. Get that straight. Don’t lie to us. We’re smarter than you. You put tits in your video because you wanted to stir up some controversy. Congrats on that. I dare you to do it with the next video. Nah, that’ll probably be another stupid warehouse video. Watch the video: It isn’t the first time Sonic Syndicate has had to hire a woman to show them her boobs.
