Philly Improv Theater House Team Night, November 5th and 6th

Philly Improv Theater

Exciting news straight from the Philly Improv Theater!  On November 5th and 6th, PHIT will be showcasing all five of their house teams on one totally awesome bill!  This mini-marathon is an excellent opportunity to see some of the best improv talent the city has to offer.  These shows are a veritable improv buffet; you can come and go as you please and see any group you’d like.  And the best part of all: the entire night costs only $10!  Here’s a breakdown of the groups and running order:

8pm: Activity Book – One of PHIT’s original house teams, Activity Book has been rocking PHIT’s stage for years.  A playful group, these players pride themselves on their one-upmanship and all around good natured foolishness.

8:30pm: Asteroid! – A new house team, Asteroid! made their debut less than a month ago with wild success.  Expect them to take off into the stratosphere in years to come.

9pm: Fletcher – another of PHIT’s original house teams, Fletcher features some of the freshest improvisers in Philadelphia.  They will provide a candid look into their charming and twisted pasts and take the audience on a mind-smashing journey of hilarity.

9:30pm – King Friday – A house team that grew from their 2009 debut in the Philly Fringe Festival, King Friday performs their own brand of smart, crazy improv.  Billed as “Improv Comedy for the Masses,” they always put on a show that everyone can enjoy.

10pm: Mayor Karen – Another new house team, Mayor Karen made their debut less than a month ago with wild success.  They’ll be laying down the law with their wild and character based improv style for years to come.

The show takes place November 5th and 6th at The Shubin Theater, 407 Bainbridge Street, one block south of South Street.  The tickets are $10 and you can come and go as you please.  Tickets can be purchased in advance on PHIT’s website.  Come to both nights and you’ll see the same line-up but completely different performances (it’s all made up, after all)!  This is going to be an awesome show and well worth your time!
