Seattle7Writers present a festive all-star Holiday Author Signing
If you’re one of the thousands of avid readers who enjoys sharing their passion for the written word at Christmas, then you’ll want to make a stop at the Phinney Neighborhood Center on Saturday November 20.
It will be playing host to a Holiday Author Signing event organized by the Seattle7Writers group, and it presents the perfect opportunity to pick up some personalized literary gifts for family and loved ones. Among the authors signing will be Garth Stein, Stephanie Kallos, Jim Lynch, Erica Bauermeister, Erik Larson, Carol Cassella, Kevin O’Brien, Jennie Shortridge, Elizabeth George, Randy Sue Coburn, Kit Bakke, Maria Dahvana Headley, Bob Dugoni, Sean Beaudoin, Kathleen Alcala, Suzanne Selfors, Laurie Frankel, Thea Cooper, Dave Boling and Susan Wiggs. Even if you’re not buying gifts for the holiday season, this is a unique chance to meet some of the Pacific Northwest’s finest writers in a single location.
Books by all the featured authors will be on sale at the event thanks to Santoro’s Books, and there will be author readings taking place every half hour. Cookies baked by some of the authors themselves will also be available for those who require more sustenance than the written word can provide.
If you’re not familiar with Seattle7Writers, the group was formed in 2006 by Garth Stein and Jennie Shortridge, and now boasts over 30 members. The group not only promotes the writing of its members, it also seeks to energize the local literary community, and organizes events designed to support independent bookstores and raise money for literacy and writing programs. Proceeds from the Holiday Author Signing will support Writers in the Schools (WITS) and the Phinney Neighborhood Association.
The Seattle7Writers Holiday Author Signing takes place at the Phinney Neighborhood Center on Saturday November 20, 2010, from 3:00pm-6:00pm. Further details can also be found on their Facebook event page.
