After suffering a small snafu wherein copies of the new 2011 Chicago Michelin Guide were erroneously shipped ahead of schedule, Michelin released the long awaited guide a day early.
Without further ado… the big winners were Alinea and L2O. Both restaurants received the highest honor, three Michelin stars, while Peninsula Hotel Chicago’s Avenues, Charlie Trotters and Elysian Hotel’s RIA each garnered two stars. Eighteen eateries round out the 2011 selections with one Michelin star a peice.
Clearly Chef Paul Kahan was a little disappointed Avec didn’t make the cut. Earlier today he posted on Twitter, “In the beginning, they didn’t understand the Clash either. Avec rules.”
