Have nearly 8 years passed since LeBron James burst on to the national basketball scene? With presale ticket sales just announced for the 2011 McDonald’s All American Games, it’s a good time to look back at LeBron James performance in that game. In short, it was spectacular, and signaled the greatness that was to come in his NBA career.

A record-setting crowd of 18,728 showed up at Cleveland’s Gund Arena to see hometown favorite LeBron James play his last high school game in the state of Ohio. He didn’t disappoint with a 27-point, 7-rebound, 7-assist performance to lead the East team to a 122-107 beat-down of the West. Chris Paul had 10 assists and Charlie Villanueva scored 17. Besides winning the game MVP award, James also won the slam dunk contest.

For LeBron, who has been highly criticized for his decision to jump ship at Cleveland for Miami, it was definitely simpler times.
