Black Friday Bargains at Los Angeles Thrift Stores: Goodwill, Salvation Army and More
Black Friday shopping season is officially open in Los Angeles.  Shoppers are already camped out at stores famous for their Black Friday bargains.  I was just returning from a Thanksgiving Day nightcap at Kitchen 24 around 11:30 pm when I spotted early holiday shoppers already in line outside of the Target & Best Buy on La Brea & Santa Monica.  To make room for this year’s Black Friday finds shoppers likely donated much of last year’s Black Friday junk at area Los Angeles Thrift stores.  Do I even have to say it? Just for kicks I’ll at least remix it: One shopper’s junk is a Frugalista’s treasure!
Yes, the best Black Friday shopping bargains in Los Angeles can be found at thrift stores. Â Sure it’s one thing to save 50% off the latest thing-a-majig electronic at a traditional retail store, but I experienced shopping bliss last year when I discovered the Black Friday bargains at a Goodwill Thrift Store. Â Not only was most of their gently used inventory deeply discounted, but some of their “like-new” merchandise was marked down to FREE!
Since I’m on a Dave Ramsey financial diet I avoided all of the Black Friday shopping ads. Instead, I reached out to the good folks at some of my favorite Los Angeles Thrift stores to learn about the best bargains in the city. Â The best tip came from Dawn Marks of the Salvation Army. Â She shared this great info:
(The) Salvation Army Family Stores in Southern CA are having sales with discounts ranging from 40% – 50% OFF Storewide on Friday and Saturday. All our stores are well stocked and jammed packed with new arrivals! Store hours and special weekend offers for each individual store location can be found on the website, satruck.org.
The American Cancer Discovery Shops are also offering great holiday deals. Â In addition to their daily low prices, shoppers are invited to gobble up even more savings with up to 25% off an entire purchase.
You’ll definitely want to shop Goodwill’s After Thanksgiving Sale. Â They are offering up to 200 give away items at each store, gift certificates, and up to 50% off of select merchandise.
Thrift store shopping is quite a fruitful adventure. Â Aside from scoring awesome deals your purchases also support great work in Los Angeles Communities. Â Â So while you’re out in the Black Friday madness don’t forget to add a thrift store or three to your shopping route. Â You should definitely check out CultureMob’s Black Friday Survival guide to make sure you’re prepared for the madness no matter which stores you decide to hit.
