And holy shitski — it’s already being eyed for a late spring release through Relapse Records. Talk about a thrifty turnaround! The thrash metal act is already holed up in Dexters Lab in Milford, Connecticut, with Toxic Holocaust and Kingdom of Sorrow drummer and engineer Nick Bellmore.
This is great news because these guys can’t churn out enough material, if you ask me. And I’d love to drive up to Connecticut and hear some of that shit…hint, hint.
According to frontman Joel Grind, they’re “on Day 4 of recording the new record. Everything is coming together quickly and smoothly. Drums are finished and we have started on guitar tracks. I’m excited for people to hear this new stuff. It’s not going to alienate old fans, by any means, but I think it might attract some new ones.”
Hmmm. I mean, that’s the hope with any record, right? I just hope they’re not pandering to the lowest common denominator just to scan a few discs. “It’s definitely a step up from what we’ve done, and this time around we’ve increased the evil tenfold. The lyrics on this record are a little darker, including lots of occult themes as well as real-life shit that is stranger than fiction could ever be.”
Killer. In the meantime, the band will be playing a bunch of shows in January. Those dates follow below. Does that mean they’ll be done recording by January? That’s a band that works quick. Either that, or they have no fucking choice but to work quick. Regardless, ‘tis a good day, as new Toxic Holocaust is on the way.
Toxic Holocaust tour dates:
1/12: Brooklyn, NY – The Acheron
1/13: Milford, CT – Daniel Street
1/14: Pittsburgh, PA – Kopecs Korner Bar
