Between The Buried And Me Working With David Bottrill
Between The Buried and me are in Toronto, Canada, where they will soon begin tracking a new EP with producer David Bottrill, who has worked with the likes of Tool and Muse. The effort’s expected to be recorded over the next ten days and the band promises a “half hour of new music.”
Last week, Gun Shy Assassin spoke with frontman Tommy Rogers about the disc, and the band’s future label home. He says the band has not signed with Metal Blade, as rumors are suggesting.
“It’s one of those things where we’re still kind of figuring out what we’re going to do next,” he says. “We’re taking it slow, you know? We could jump into something or we can not and we’re not really ready to jump into anything yet. We’re just focusing on figuring out the next year or two, and what we want to do as far as music and tours and then kind of go from there.”
Rogers says BTB&M have been busy writing, and have three songs already completely written. He says the band will be heading out on tour in April.
“We’re looking to maybe do an EP,” he told Gun Shy Assassin last week. “We’ve just been really non-stop the last few months. It sounds awesome. It’s really heavy, which is cool, because I think people keep thinking we’re going to become a rock band at some point but the new shit’s really, really brutal, so I’m stoked about that.”
This is the last week you can sign up for our newsletter and be entered into a drawing for a Black Dahlia Murder skate deck, signed by frontman and Gun Shy Assassin scribe Trevor Strnad.
