I bet they start serving this stuff at Idle Hands in New York…if they don’t already carry it.
Yes, people — there is now a beer for our kind. Black Metal Imperial Stout — a.k.a. Suds of Northern Darkness, a.k.a. Iron Sword, a.k.a. El Martillo del Muerte — is a cruel and punishing beer, fermented by the sheer force of its awesome will. That’s what a press release says, anyways.
“We are pretty sure that Kreator wrote the song ‘Impossible Brutality’ about this beer while drinking it during their Extreme Aggression Tour,” the release continues. That’s how you know black metal’s gone mainstream — when there are black metal greeting cards and black metal beer.
Black Metal Imperial Stout is Jester King’s winter seasonal release. Weighing in at about 10 percent alcohol by volume, it’s filled with huge flavors of roast, chocolate, burnt malt and alcohol and carries a hint of leather.
Black Metal will initially be draught only with bottle conditioned 750mL, champagne-style bottles to be released later this winter.
