Voivod Prepping Live, Studio Releases
In a new interview, Voivod drummer Michel “Away” Langevin claims the Canadian metal outfit will release a live album and a new studio set in 2011.
Voivod is also scheduled “to tour in Chile, USA, Europe and Russia.” I’m assuming this was an email interview, due to the obvious lack of follow-up questions.
The interview doesn’t offer much in the way of details for the new releases, but does address the band’s upcoming performance on the 70,000 Tons of Metal Cruise, which leaves Miami on January 24, bound for Cozumel, Mexico.
“Well, even though I’m a bit nervous to travel on such a huge ship, I’m excited to take part in this experience and have a good time with our metal brothers like Raven, Testament, etc.,” says Away. “I also really want to visit the Mayan ruins on the island.”
The band’s last release, a DVD called “Tatsumaki: Voivod in Japan 2008,” was released back in November. The set boasts professionally-filmed footage of Voivod’s September 20, 2008, concert at Club Citta in Kawasaki, Japan.
