Poison’s Bret Michaels Recovering From Heart Surgery
Bret Michaels had a hole in his heart — not in the metaphorical sense, like an emotional hole that could only be filled by an endless stream of slutty chicks but a physical hole that was discovered last year, after Bret suffered a gnarly brain hemorrhage.
Now, that hole has been repaired, after the Poison frontman underwent successful surgery Monday (January 24) in Phoenix, Arizona. According to doctors, Bret Michaels likely had the hole in his heart since birth. The 47-year-old singer is now recovering in the hospital.
After last year’s brain hemorrhage, doctors advised Bret to continue follow-up treatment before moving ahead with surgery to repair his hole-riddled heart. Personally, I can tell you that having heart problems is not fun. But Bret somehow managed to live his whole life without ever having it affect him. And while Bret is a man-whore, I do wish him a speedy recovery.
“I’ve done a lot of neurological tests, and they say I’m about 95 percent there,” said Michaels. “I still have a little ‘funk’ with my left hand that I haven’t quite figured out, but I think with a little more therapy, by one full year, I’ll be as good as I’m going to get.”
