Adema Bassist David DeRoo Arrested In Hartford
My old stomping grounds! I worked at the Hartford Advocate and lived in the crime-riddled mini-metropolis for several years, covering crime — and even male prostitution in the city’s Bushnell Park. By the way, if anyone can find that article on Google, I’ll be psyched. I can’t.
Anyways, the Hartford Courant claims that Adema bassist David DeRoo was arrested on Saturday (January 29) in Hartford, Connecticut, and was charged with being a fugitive from justice. DeRoo was arrested just before Adema were to take the stage at the Webster Theatre. Gee, doesn’t that just suck. What — he walked off the bus, and the police were standing at the ready, to take him down?
DeRoo, 36, faces charges in California of driving under the influence causing bodily injury, and was being held on a $1 million bond. He was first charged with driving under the influence after a traffic collision on January 11, 2008, and a bench warrant was issued after he allegedly violated the conditions of his probation.
In related news, frontman Marky Chavez recently quit Adema for the second time in order to pursue his “solo project.” The band have been touring as a trio, with guitarist Tim Fluckey and DeRoo handling lead vocals.
