You can hear it at the end of this post, actually. Yes, folks — the song is called “C’est La Vie” and it is from the band’s forthcoming album Scurrilous, which drops March 22.

Now, a confession: In the past, I’ve never really liked what this band’s done. I would listen to their albums and ask myself, “What am I missing? Why am I not licking this band’s ass like everyone else?” I continued on with my life, content in the knowledge that I would never like Protest The Hero. I was fine with that. But this song…I’ve got to admit it — it’s fucking good.

Maybe I am remembering this band wrong, but this song sounds like The Mars Volta meets Between The Buried and Me…which is a good thing, folks. I really do not remember liking this band’s music before but this song…it’s got me interested. Is this a new sound for them? Fans of this band — fill me in. Everything I’ve heard from them in the past was throwaway tripe — but this sounds fucking stellar.

Listen to it, and tell me you’re not sort of intrigued to hear the full-length! Tell me, go on. You can pre-order the band’s new album now. That’s the cover right there.

The band will be touring North America this spring with Maylene and the Sons of Disaster and TesseracT. The tour kicks off March 23 in Kingston, Ontario, and runs through May 12 in St. Catharines, Ontario.
