Jim Sheppard
Holy fucking shit! This is some seriously bad news, but bassist Jim Sheppard — who plays with Seattle-based metal maniacs Nevermore — has a benign tumor in his brain. Damn, that’s just horrible. Sorry dude.

According to Blabbermouth, Nevermore frontman Warrel Dane claims that Sheppard will undergo surgery today to remove the tumor from his brain. The tumor is not believed to be cancerous but still — brain surgery is no minor procedure. “Please, all metalhead brothers and sisters, send your positive energy for our brother,” writes Dane.

A benign tumor lacks the ability to metastasize, like moles. However, benign tumors may still produce negative health effects and many types of benign tumors have the potential to become malignant and some types, such as teratoma, are notorious for this.

Sheppard has had health issues in the past, having undergone a procedure in 2006 related to his Crohn’s Disease, a condition he’s managed for nearly 20 years.

We wish you the best, Jim. May you make a full recovery so you can rock our asses very soon.
