Someone’s not on the same page.
According to a new interview with Slash, there’s a reason why those rumors have been flying around about Slipknot’s Corey Taylor joining Velvet Revolver as its new singer: Because they’re true.
“There was truth to the rumor that we were looking at Corey Taylor, but then I left for tour,” explains Slash. “So there’s nothing being done at the moment. No decision.”
Earlier this week, Slash said that he would not be commenting on the rumor. Now, he is. Wonder why the dude had a change of heart? Either way, chances are very good that Taylor is the frontrunner to replace Scott Weiland in the band.
Of course, Taylor last month said he could not “confirm or deny” the rumors that he would become Velvet Revolver’s next lead singer. A week or so later, Duff McKagan was also asked about the rumors, and similarly said that he would not confirm or deny the speculation. Only time will tell. And only time will tell if people still care by the time they finally get around to making the announcement.
