Death Ray Vision To Record Material Next Month

Overcast
Last week, we learned that three members of Overcast — Shadows Fall frontman Brian Fair, Killswitch Engage bassist Mike D’Antonio, and Seemless’ Pete Cortese — had banded together to form a hardcore punk outfit called Death Ray Vision, and most of us nearly pooped our Fruit of the Looms. Now, there’s more good news.

In addition to playing this year’s New England Metal and Hardcore Festival in April, Death Ray Vision will be entering a studio next month to begin tracking four to five songs which will– presumably — end up on the band’s debut effort.

The fact that it’ll only be four or five songs leads me to believe it’ll be an EP. Couple that with the fact that Shadows Fall is writing new stuff now, and will likely be taking up much of Brian Fair’s time once the album’s written, I’m guessing they’ll release an EP.

Either way, I am pumped to hear what these dudes are working on, because in my opinion, Overcast was one of the greatest bands ever, and called it quits well before they should have. I’m also psyched to see the band live, because with three members of Overcast in the fold, how could they not play “Seven Ft. Grin.”
