That’s right, people — Marilyn Manson drummer Ginger Fish (born Kenneth Robert Wilson) has quit the band, and his statement on why he’s left is confusing.
“After much deliberation and constant reflection of where my life has been and where it could or should be heading, I am regretful to inform the general population, and the fans, that I have decided to step down as a member of Marilyn Manson and see where my life, and the knowledge of my availability cares to take me,” says Fish.
Say what? “I can’t stand by to watch opportunities pass me by simply because the knowledge of my availability wasn’t clearly expressed by me. I wish my brothers well, and I expect nothing but great things from them.”
I’m still sort of wondering why the dude left. I guess he was just missing out on a lot of hired gun work because of his longtime association with Manson. But from what I understand, Manson is working on a new album, so what gives, Ginger? You don’t seem like the type of dude who would turn down work. I’m sure there’s more to his departure than just “I want to see what happens when people know I’m available.”
Of course, Ginger did play a bunch of shows with Rob Zombie earlier this month, while Joey Jordison was indisposed with The Murderdolls. Maybe Ginger wanted the Zombie gig full-time? Who knows? Either way, that Ginger Fish is a handsome man. Good looking Ginger.
