Crucify me! I don’t listen to metal exclusively. I happen to like a lot of quirky bands as well…bands that don’t fit the metal mold. Bands like Dredg, who have been embraced by the metal community as one of those bands it’s OK to be down with.

On May 3, Dredg will launch its first round of headlining dates with The Dear Hunter, Balance and Composure, and Trophy Fire. That same day, the band’s new album Chuckles and Mr. Squeezy will also be available in stores all over the world. Those dates after the jump.

I personally can’t wait to hear this fucker, and would appreciate someone who works with the band sending it to me. Thanks.

“For me this a renewal kind of record,” frontman Gavin Hayes says in a press release. “It feels different and in some ways it feels like a new band. That was my goal when working with the band and with Dan [The Automator] was to make something we’d never done. Hopefully people can see the band in a new light. We can mold to different things and there is a future for the band when it comes to creating.”
