Trent Reznor Not Doing Abe Lincoln Movie

Real news is also happening
I am feeling bad for Japan. Little more than a year ago, I was there, walking around and falling in love with the city of Tokyo. Right now, the bodies are being collected and counted after an 8.9 magnitude earthquake that sent a tsunami of water across the coast, wreaking all kinds of havoc. I’ve been watching the news coverage since 3 a.m. (had a hard time sleeping, for some reason). My thoughts are with Japan…making it a challenge to write about Trent Reznor backing out of a cushy movie job.

Seems insignificant, no? But yes, Trent must’ve heard my plea, since he’s backed out of scoring and appearing in the upcoming film adaptation of “Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.”

“As it turns out, I WON’T be working on (acting or scoring) ALVH after all,” Trent writes in an online post. “There’s no juicy story here, it’s just that when the news mysteriously leaked out about my involvement, I hadn’t made up my mind completely, because various aspects of the project were changing.”

So why the hell did you release a statement on it earlier this week? “I felt the need to say something earlier this week because my inbox was filling up with speculation, and at that moment I thought I would be doing it. Confused yet? Apparently I am. Bottom line, I wish them the best with the film and I’m sure it will still be great.”

Trent also updated folks on the long-in-the-works mini-series based on the concept of Year Zero. He says the project is still being worked on, with writing for the series well underway.
