Former Manowar Drummer Scott Columbus Reported Dead
Man, this is a fucked up way to start what’s a rainy, crummy fucking Tuesday. Former Manowar drummer Scott Columbus has died.
Columbus died on Monday (April 4), according to a posting on former Manowar guitarist Ross “The Boss” Friedman’s Facebook page.
He was 54 years old, and the cause of his death has not been determined.
While Friedman broke the news, Scott’s girlfriend Nancy confirmed it by writing on Columbus’ Facebook page.
“For all you to know, this is Scott Columbus’ girlfriend of over 3 1/3 years…and I cannot get the words out, but he died today,” Nancy wrote. “Please send your thoughts and prayers. I can’t believe he is gone. He was the absolute love of my life.”
Fuck. I can’t tell you how much I hate writing about metal dudes passing away, but I’ve been doing it more and more lately. The dude was only 54. What the hell? That’s pretty young for a dude who was seemingly in good physical shape.
Columbus parted ways with Manowar in 2008. We will keep you posted on this developing story as more information becomes available.
