Bret Michaels To Appear On Kidz Bop CD
If you’re not familiar with the Kidz Bop compilation series, you don’t have kids. I don’t either, but while I was at MTV, I would always write up the latest album sales figures on Wednesday. Whenever a Kidz Bop CD came out, it opened at #1, selling a fuck ton. Kidz Bop are CDs of little kids singing contemporary songs, like Modest Mouse and Britney Spears and shit.
On May 17, Kidz Bop will release the latest album in its best-selling audio series, Kidz Bop Sings Monster Ballads. Kidz Bop has teamed up with legendary rocker and frontman Bret Michaels and his daughters Raine and Jorja Michaels to record a new version of his power ballad classic “Every Rose Has Its Thorn.”
That will be the lead track on the album — a portion of the sales from which will go to benefit Bret’s Juvenile Diabetes Foundation.
“The most awesome jobs I’ve ever had are being a rock star, Donald Trump’s ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ winner, raising money for kids with diabetes and, most importantly, being a good father, so rerecording ‘Every Rose has Its Thorn’ with Raine and Jorja for Kidz Bop Sings Monster Ballads was, by far, one of the coolest ways ever to combine my love for music and family: Not only do I get to rock out with my two favorite girls, but a portion of the proceeds will go to the American Diabetes Association and Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation,” said Bret, in what is the longest run-on sentence ever. “It’s a great track for a great cause. Kidz Bop Sings Monster Ballads is one party you definitely won’t want to miss: So bring your strongest voice, best air guitar and get ready to monster rock.”
Other songs getting the Kidz Bop treatment include Cinderella’s “Don’t Know What You Got Till It’s Gone,” Whitesnake’s “Is This Love,” Guns N’ Roses’ “Patience,” Bad English’s “When I See You Smile,” The Scorpions’ “Wind of Change,” and Firehouse’s “Love of a Lifetime.”
Is there nothing Bret Michaels won’t turn down?
