Hatebreed, Agnostic Front, Terror Dudes Send An S.O.S.
I wonder what S.O.S. stands for? I mean, other than distress or save our ships/save our souls, which is what people think S.O.S. stands for. In fact, S.O.S. — in Morse code — means nothing…it was just something easy for people to remember. But I digress.
I wonder if the dudes in hardcore super-squad S.O.S. — namely, bassist Chris Beattie from Hatebreed, Terror frontman Scott Vogel, Agnostic Front and Madball guitarist Matt Henderson, drummer Nick Jett of Terror, and Trapped Under Ice guitarist Sam Trapkin — have any meaning to their choice of letters. It can’t just be that they named their band after a distress signal?
The band have a debut EP, called I Owe You Nothing, coming out June 21 in Europe via Good Fight Entertainment. No word yet on when that bad boy will be out here in the states, but I’m going to go out on a limb and say it’ll be out around that same time.
The CD was recorded over several days during New York’s recent shitty winter with producer and engineer Dean Baltulonis. I’m actually psyched to hear this; as mentioned, we had a shitty winter here in New York, so you know it’s going to be fucking vicious LP. And I have long said Chris Beattie was one of the best things about Hatebreed. I loves me some bass.
Sick Of Science? The S.O.S. must have some meaning for the band. It has to mean something. Solitary Onanating Society? Sell Outs Scoring? I kid, I kid. Sex Or Sleep? Secret Of Success? Stabbed Over Stupidity? I could go on for days.
