And who’re the lucky folks who’ll get to see Mike Patton, my favorite singer of all time — the man who fronts Faith No More, Fantomas, Lovage, Tomahawk, Peeping Tom, and countless other bands and collaborators — perform in a couple of weeks?
Mike, according to The PRP, will be teaming up with Australian outfit PIVIXKI for a collaborative performance at the Great American Music Hall in San Francisco on May 18.
One time, I spent a bunch of money to see Patton on New Year’s Eve in New York. It was…different. Basically, it was Mike Patton, John Zorn, and some Asian chick with a laptop, making noise all night.
It was headache-inducing and I never ended up getting fully into it. I looked around the room at all these dudes freaking out on this noise, and I just knew they had better drugs…because I was just baffled.
It was nuts. I will never ever forget it.
By the way, in San Fran, The Talking Book (who feature Patton‘s Faith No More band mate Billy Gould) and Gigante Sound will open.
