Norwegian Government Training Employees On Metal
Norwegian metal, that is. And more specifically, Norwegian black metal.
It’s true, because it appears on Views And News From Norway. According to that site, the Norwegian foreign ministry has begun training aspiring diplomats in True Norwegian Black Metal. Why? Foreign service missions reported a rise in inquiries about the musical genre from all around the world.
“We now have 106 foreign service missions and they get many inquiries from people who want information about Norwegian black metal as a phenomenon,” says head of the foreign ministry’s center of excellence, Kjersti Sommerset. “In the training program, we have a large cultural program in order to give the trainees a good understanding of Norwegian culture and the cultural industry.”
That’s kind of rad. I wonder if Jamaican diplomats have to know a lot about reggae? And by the way, if you’re from Norway and you do not know enough about black metal to have a casual conversation, you should have your citizenship revoked.
