Fear Before Are No More: Band Goes On Hiatus
Oh well. To be honest, I stopped paying attention to these dudes right around the time when they dropped “the March of Flames” from their names. Fear Before, by itself, is just dumb. Fear Before the March of Flames — now that’s a kick-ass band name. Anyways, so, I gave up on these dudes when they lopped off the latter portion of their name for reasons unknown. But for a spell, I thought these dudes were fucking right on.
The first couple of FBTMOF offerings were really rad. I loved what they were doing, and then they changed that name, and their style and I moved on. Now, Fear Before is done. They’ve gone on hiatus…something they should’ve done an album ago.
In a series of online postings, the band revealed the news. “I’m sorry if you have been left with the feeling that we (Fear Before the March of Flames) have been leading you on, making you think we’re working on music. We are not. As of April 2010, Goose, David, Mike and I have not been in the same room together with our instruments.”
Oh shit. They’ve been dormant over a year, making people think they’re all honky dory. That’s shitty. For their 21 fans.
“However, until April 2010, I had written quite a few songs for a new Fear Before record with the help of Goose. Whether or not we will ever release another record is up in the air right now. There is no immediate plan to write/record/ or tour. this has nothing to do with Orbs, Loom, All Human, or any other project Goose or I may be a part of. Its just the way things went.
“2009 took a very weird turn for us and it kinda left all of us collectively and individually wondering what the hell we were doing. I truly am sorry to everyone who is anxiously awaiting a new record from us. I’m not saying it will never happen, I just cant say that it will.”
But the band cautioned: “Do not mistake my previous post for a break up announcement. It was an update letting you know that we are currently inactive and there is no forthcoming record from us as of now. I cannot say what the future holds.”
