Jens, probably playing that Conan game
That’s right, you lucky motherfuckers…with your beach trips and your hot dogs and your hot chicks.

If you head for the end of this post, after the jump, you will get to hear a new song called “Road To Khitai” from a new band, called Artisan.
The band features Jens F. Ryland of Borknagar, ICS Vortex, and formerly of Dimmu Borgir, and the clip you’ll be watching was made by a fan; it includes footage from an online game called “Age of Conan.” Turns out the song is a tribute to the game.

“I play ‘Age Of Conan’ actively and this is my tribute to a brilliant game,” said Jens. “Playing ‘Age Of Conan’ is in itself a good inspiration to create music, and that is why this whole band and this particular song has come to life.”

The band’s recording lineup also boasts ICS Vortex, former Dimmu Borgir keyboardist Mustis, and former Borknagar drummer Asgeir Mickelson.

“As a band, we will continue to make music without being tied to a genre or put in a shelf,” says Ryland. “As a media project, Asgeir Mickelson and myself will continue to make posts about our lives as musicians on this blog along with creating new possibilities to implement our music.”

What do you think of the track? I think it’s fantastical. The video made me want to play that “Age of Conan” video game, too. It looks rad.
