As first revealed by John Strachan in his new column for Gun Shy Assassin, Early Graves have a new singer, and it is him.
The band have released a statement about Strachan’s addition to Early Graves. John is also the singer for The Funeral Pyre.
Strachan takes over for Makh Daniels, who was killed in a van accident while on tour last August.
“So I’m sure that most of you that are interested in the band have already read, but I feel like we should probably say something because we are getting real good at being silent about our band,” says the statement. “John Strachan is our new vocalist.”
Early Grave continued that “there is no way to replace Makh Daniels, and in a lot of ways he’ll never be ‘replaced.’ His voice was huge and his lyrics were amazing and he was one of the funniest dudes I have ever had the pleasure to be around, and we miss our friend more than you could possibly imagine.
“The last year has been difficult on all of us, however we are pressing forward with a close friend and a fantastic singer. We are incredibly excited about how our new songs (yes, that means we are writing a new album) are sounding and stoked to be playing all together again (yes, we will be touring and playing shows again).”
Last night, Early Graves made their live debut with Strachan at The Power Of the Riff festival at the Echo/Echoplex in Los Angeles. They’re also playing the Power Of The Riff festival in San Francisco at the Mezzanine on Tuesday.”
