Mikko Laine, the guitarist for Finnish metal band Sole Remedy, was killed in a traffic accident last night, according to Blabbermouth.
Laine died in the Dutch municipality of Baarlo — just hours after the band’s performance at the ProgPower Europe festival.
According to a spokesperson of the Sjiwa youth center (where the concert took place), the accident occurred at approximately 1:30 a.m.
Laine, who had fallen asleep next to a fence, was run over by a truck.
Laine died at the scene.
Sole Remedy formed back in 1998 and released their sophomore album Apoptosis last year.
That sucks. Rest in peace, dude. And let this be a lesson to all: Do not sleep next to fences.
