Erika Tandy does not look like that. Which is why I put that picture in this post instead. I wonder if Erika is related to the late Jessica Tandy. Probably not.
Tandy has joined Texan death metal outfit Hod. Tandy is no stranger to the scene, having worked with Ignitor, Morgengrau, Bracaglia, and Autumn Tears.
“This was an opportunity I could not turn down,” Tandy says. “Hod is a first-class band and brothers in arms. I’m honored to be a part of the band and ready to start the destruction!”
Agreed. Hod guitarist Carl “Necron” has “known Erika for some time and I know she is dedicated to metal. She has a great attitude and ferocious playing style. We look forward to playing more shows and destroying more souls with her!”
According to a press release, Erika will join Hod next month when the band performs at this year’s Goregrowler’s Ball, which runs from November 18 to November 20 in beautiful San Antonio, Texas.
I love San Antonio. Nice city. I was there a few years back for the Sacrifice of the Nazarene Child festival with Profanatica. It was awesome, and I slowly fell in love with San Antonio.
I even considered moving there. But then I thought of all the racism, and I stayed in New York.
By the way, Tandy will also take part in the recording of Hod’s second full-length album, Book Of Worms, which will be released in early 2012 through Ibex Moon Records.
