That’s what the sales figures for this week reveal. Metallouca’s Lulu — the collaborative album between Metallica and Lou Reed — sold a paltry 13,000 copies.
I repeat: An album by Metallica only sold 13,000 copies. That was enough to land Lulu at the Top 200 albums chart’s #36 position.
Three years ago, when Death Magnetic dropped, it sold nearly half a million copies.
Even St. Anger sold more than 400,000 units.
Still, it amazes me 13,000 people wasted their hard earned money on this album.
Must’ve been a bunch of Lou Reed fans or something. Or Lars Ulrich drove all around California, buying up 10,000 copies.
If you bought this album, clearly you have money to burn. Why not spend some on a Gun Shy Assassin tee?
