Slavia vocalist Jonas Christiansen was reportedly found dead in his apartment early Thursday morning (November 17), after spending the last few months battling colon cancer.
This. Fucking. Blows.
Christiansen was just 31-years-old.
Fuck. This scares the hell out of me. I recently went for a physical. Waiting for my test results. But…literally, people — we can be here one day, and gone the next. Live life that way — don’t waste another minute of your precious life listening to Korn.
Today, the members several high-profile Norwegian metal bands, including Taake, Darkthrone, and the almighty Satyricon, will take part in a live show called “Algir – Støttekonsert For Jonas R. Christiansen.”
The show goes down at Bergen rock venue, Garage. The concert will help raise awareness to colon cancer.
In addition, Helheim, Gravdal and Slavia themselves will perform at the event that was originally intended to be a fund-raising concert, but will now go ahead as a memorial show for Christiansen.
Our thoughts go out to the members of Slavia and Jonas’ family.
