In 2009, Trent Reznor retired Nine Inch Nails from the road. And I was sad, because I thought, “This is the end…the end of Nine Inch Nails.” Or “Nin,” as my mom called ‘em once.
Reznor said Nine Inch Nails would only exist as a studio project going forward. Now that Trent’s completed work with Atticus Ross on the score for “The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo,” it looks like Reznor may be back to his old tricks.
According to The NIN Hotline, Reznor said in a new interview with the BBC Radio 1’s Zane Lowe that in 2012, his main focus, writing-wise, will be Nine Inch Nails.
I’d tell you exactly what I said, but video containing audio of the interview has been geoblocked — or restricted to the U.K. Fuck you too, BBC1.
Reznor also said that How To Destroy Angels — his group with Ross and smoking hot wife Mariqueen Maandig (Nice fucking work, Trent) — are currently in the mixing phase of their debut album, which will be out in 2012.
So, yeah — I am psyched for new Nin. I was a fan of the last two Nine Inch efforts, and I am really looking forward to the full “Dragon Tattoo” score…2012 is going to be awesome.
